Sauti Ya Wanawake Pwani works with the community to ensure timely and sustainable enrollments of girls in schools by addressing gender disparities. Together with the established government structures, Sauti tracks enrollment, retention, and completion of children in school. Sauti is tasked to enlighten children on their basic rights through their schools and sensitization communities on children’s rights, Sauti will also lobby and advocate for the construction of schools to reduce the distance covered to school and ensure the availability of basic infrastructure in schools to ensure retention of girls in school. Increased awareness in the community on women and child rights increased the number of girls and children completing Primary School – Awareness has assisted parents to take responsibility to ensure their children complete their education. This has reduced the number of school dropouts.
In partnership with Action Aid Sauti Ya Wanawake Pwani enrolled about 1141 teenage mothers in an empowerment program from Kilifi County under the Education For Life Project targeting Mostly Out Of School Girls. https://www.the-star.co.ke/counties/coast/2023-01-23-over-1000-kilifi-teen-mums-receive-technical-training/
