Ethnicity, religion, the fight over ownership of land, and natural resource control are among the factors that fuel conflict, especially in the coastal region. Therefore Peacebuilding seeks to mend these differences which if not checked can exacerbate Gender Based violence which mostly affects negatively women and children. To address these challenges SYWP adopts non-violent mechanisms to quell the differences to ensure the existence of a peaceful environment. In case of emergencies, SYWP facilitates mechanisms that guarantee peaceful resolutions to the conflicts that might arise to have a safe environment for women and children in the coastal region. Sauti has been able to achieve;
- Facilitated interventions for peace-building emergency handling and conflict management and resolutions.
- Create awareness of women’s land rights and land ownership and inheritance procedures to avoid conflict after the death of the household head. Already some women own lands and inherit some properties from their parents and partners.
- Sauti lobbed for the recognition of Saudi chapters as a platform for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Sauti women conduct mediations at the chapter level.
